Sippy Cup/Beaker

I am currently weaning/introducing solids to my almost 7 month old DD. However no matter how much i try, she won't take a sippy cup or breaker. Has anyone got any tips for this? She also rejects anything that isn't milk. Im not sure what to do as i think she's getting constipated :-(

Have you tried a doidy cup? www.bickiepegs.co.uk/acatalog/Bickiepegs_on_line_About_the_Doidy_7.html

I also had trouble introducing my ds to sippy cups. I think he found it difficult to suck from the fancy 'non spill' type sippy cups and actually managed to drink from the cheap free flow tommee tippee sippy cup! I also recommend the doidy cup though'

I was going to say the same as a pp; both my dc hated those non-spill cups and when I had a go I understood why - they're incredibly difficult to sip from! I just kept giving formula alongside/after their meals, in their bottles and kept trying with different, quite expensive and fancy sippy cups. In the end, the cups they actually liked were those cheapy ones we got free from the health visitor! When that broke I bought the basic Tommee Tippee free flow, non-valved flip top cup.

The best cups seem to be either the cheapo tomade tippee "my first cup" (we have 4) or the dowdy cup.
The non spill ones are really hard to drink from.

My ds will only drink water from a doidy cup, he has rejected every other receptacle. He's helpful like that.

My DD was the same. She struggled with the beakers and didn't want anything but her milk.
Tried a few different (expensive) ones but found a lot of people recommended the Tommee Tippee First Cup as PP said. We just kept offering it to her with water in and now she loves it and happily gulps away.
It may take a few months, but she'll get there don't worry Smile
