Biting

Any tips for dealing with a biting toddler? He does it when I am stopping him doing something he wants (and shouldn't be doing, like throwing my phone on the floor or something)! I want to nip this in the bud before he starts doing it to other people and...well I would kind of like him to stop doing it to me!

Thanks

How old is he? When mine went through this phase we just kept repeating (after saying ow) "You do not bite! Biting hurts!" etc and then turn him away from us. He soon learned he would get turned away and put to one side if he did it, and stopped after a few weeks.

I just say 'no biting' in a boring monotone voice and stop the game, he has mostly got he hang of it (mine bites when excited)-

16 months. It is difficult not to yelp, which he thinks is part of the game!
