Sorry if I'm in the wrong place, but can't find where to post this.

Am very pissed off with virginmedia email as it's constantly mucking about via my iPad and iMac (we have Virgin Broadband) - every now and again I can't send or receive emails, even though all details are correct. very tedious, has been going on for 3 years and I've decided to switch to a web based provider.

Used to be with Hotmail eons ago, before it turned into Outlook...not sure about Outlook's interface. Google and gmail seem to have had some bad press regarding privacy etc. Everyone I know who has had Yahoo complains about the extra spam and hacking. iCloud I have no feedback for.
So I'm stumped.

Who has had good experiences with a current web based email provider and which one?

Thanks Flowers

I would always vote for and recommend Gmail.

What bad thingshave your heard regarding privacy? I doubt it's any different to any other provider on that front.

This one amongst many. Thing is, I've also heard it's got a brilliant interface and users live it, as you do, but privacy issues (even in other areas like Facebook), do bother me. It's hard to know what is real and what is hyped...
