So im thinking of doing a course at college in september (or uni haven't realy done much research yet)

I've got a rubish job and no qualifications I desperately want to change this.

The thing is all of the courses are realy expensive.

I'm a single parent with 1 dc and I work 18 hours a week would I get any financial help ? Feel cheeky asking this but googling is getting me nowhere Blush

What sort of study are you thinking of?

Anyone who does a degree is entitled to a student loan Smile

If you are over 24, you are entitled to take a loan from the 24 plus learners fund to complete a level 3 qualification (which doesn't have to be paid back if you complete a degree) I have just used this to do to an access to higher education diploma....if you lack gcse Maths and English grade c or above it is free to everyone to study the function skills level 2 equivalent of these....and like the previous poster said if you already have a level 3 qualification in the area you want to study and Maths and English at grade c or above you are ready to study at degree level and can get funding and loans through student finance England to support you through your studies x
