Little Lambs advice

I'm due in 6 weeks and have just invested in 10 little lamb bamboo nappies and two sized pockets.

Looking at the nappies I expect that I'll use the bamboo around the clock for the first few months and then as a night time nappy. I shall then use the pockets in the day.

Does this sound like a sensible approach?

Also, not too sure how many more to buy. Should I have 20 bamboo and buy the pockets later? Or just have 10 bamboo and 10 pockets and start as I mean to go on?

Is a total of 20 nappies enough? I intend to wash every other day.

I used my sized little lamb pockets from quite early on - I didn't have any of their fitteds but used other fitteds probably a bit earlier. I would say you could get away with buying ten and ten but you might then need to get a few more bamboos once baby is here and you have tried it out? Just because with the pockets of the baby is very slim around the middle you can't cross over the poppers on the pockets.

Generally with the nappies I have liked having a bit of selection at every size, so I use different nappies depending on whether I will need to change out and about or if I need something slim under an outfit or if I just want something bombproof.

The ll sized pockets are fab though! X

Just thought, if you are line drying you might want a few microfibres in the mix as this will enable you to get by with fewer nappies as bamboo really does take a looooong time to dry.

Thank you lentilpot. I'm going to order some more pockets I think and a few microfibre as you suggested.

I'd wait until you're sorted and know they work for you before buying more tbh.

Little Lambs just never fitted well here and DD turned out to be very sensitive to PUL so we can't use pockets or wraps either.

Ditsy79 · 30/04/2015 20:54

We have managed so far with 20 nappies (dd is 21 months). We have used a mixture of Little Lambs sized and Bumgenius Freetime. I agree with lentilpot about getting some microfibre nappies, our LL bamboo take at least 2 days to dry. We used Motherease Rikki and Airflow wraps, and never had any sensitivity issues.

shitebag · 30/04/2015 21:01

The sensitivity thing is just a fluke and probably down to my ridiculously sensitive skin I wasn't suggesting there was anything wrong with the wraps/nappies just that I wouldn't necessarily advise stocking up on one brand/type just incase.

We swore by Airflows to start with then switched to fleece wraps.

I'll wait as suggested and see how it goes. It might be easier to trial them with disposable back up in the early breast feeding days.
