how old to leave ds IF hes sick??alone while i go to work?

ds just 12 is saying he feels sick, also have toddler. meant to be at work at 8.40, mum has youngest but IF eldest isnt faking she wont stay here cause she gets bugs really badly

i really wouldnt feel happy leaving him but then i am a soft cow, do others leave theres?finish work 1pm

Does he travel to school by himself? If yes, then I'd consider leaving him.
It really depends how sensible he is.

My sister leaves her 12 DS at home if his school is shut or if he isn't feeling well. I don't have a 12yo myself so its really hard to say what I would do.

How sensible is he? (not being offensive, it is just that all kids vary IYSWIM)

if sensible, and if you can be easily contacted and can return home pdq, and if this is a garden variety bug, and if there are nice people next door he could head to if things go worse, I'd do it......waits for the wrath of MN to decend upon me!

I'd probably leave him too, but would get him to phone me every 1.5 hrs just for reassurance that he hadn't taken a turn for the worse.

i stayed at home with him in the end. he looks dreadful . i work in a school so wouldnt have been able to ring him easily because of being in the classrooms.

By a bug do you mean V & D ? If so,maybe he is dehydrated and that's\why he hasn't had a wee.Try and get liuid into him.

no Vor D,just belly ache,slight fever,hes just passed a tiny amount in ds's potty for me! he is drinking water. he is waiting for a circumsision op so am wondering if praps hes got an infection brewing

Could be a Kidney Infection, I would take him to the Doctor tbh, he mihgt need Ab's!
