I believe my son has told a big lie which has impacted other people.

But this is only a belief i have no evidence it is a he said she said situation.

What do other parents do?

It's hard to say without details tbh.

He said another child had done something rather serious, the other child says he did it.

Why don't you believe your son?

0x530x610x750x630x79 · 25/04/2015 08:43

When i questioned him saying 'the other boy says you did it' the story changed to we both did it, 'who did it first?', suddenly he couldn't remember any detail

Did it happen at school?

0x530x610x750x630x79 · 25/04/2015 19:45

No at home, when his friend was over playing in the bedroom whilst i was cooking dinner.
It was something i would never known had happened if my son hadn't told me one morning before school.

Sorry i am being very short in my answers but i don't want to say what it was, as it was a serious accusation.

I know how to handle to thing that happened, just the lie is the problem

I think the lying is very normal but I always say things like 'I'd be very disappointed if you weren't telling me the truth' etc and 'it's important to own up'

One thing my FIL always says is 'Don't lie or steal as everyone always remembers a thief and a liar' and it's very true.

Were they playing doctors and nurses op? Or whatever it's called these days

Sounds like something like that

Maybe your son was embarrassed or wasn't sure what to tell you

Again, hard to say without details

I hadn't thought he wanted to tell me but embarrassed or afraid.

And yes it was doctors and nurses related
