Should I get my dd a padded bra?

I my 12y dd is in y8 at school and everyone in her class has proper breasts and padded bras. She has breast buds and a small bit of breast tissue, I have got her cotton non-wired non-padded bras from m&s. However if she hits her chest it really pains her and I think she needs more protection??? She is really frustrated at being the last one in her class to develop. Suggestions for what I can do please??? ????

m&s have some non-wired slightly padded bras in the angel range, maybe she could try those?

I'll have another look, however before they all looked a little too grown-up?

I wouldn't see it as getting her a "padded bra" as such, it's not like you're after a Wonderbra or anything! From what you've said it's more to give her that bit of protection than anything.

Thanks! The Matalan ones seem a tad to big as she only has very small breasts, but the m&s ones look great! Thanks for helping me! I must have missed them when I went shopping last time...

Id definetly suggest a moulded cup or a slight "pad" as it is mortifying as a teen if you get cold and the nipples decide to say hello

T-shirt bras would be a good option. The world has changed so much! At her age I had big ol' boobies and got picked on for wearing a 'padded' bra - which was infact just a t-shirt bra... Get her what she's comfortable with - within reason.

She is a 30aa in her plain cotton bras that don't really do anything at all, and I'm pretty sure if I took her to get measured they would tell her she didn't need a bra, but her buds are really painful atm...

She is glad that I got her the cotton bras, but she does want more protection. However she feels that people might tease her for wearing a padded bra because she is still pretty flat chested

Yes there is a difference between padded ( often they have a removable 'fillet' shape thing) and lined.

AlThough I have a few padded bras I would never ever buy one that wasn't lined for the nipple poking out reasons mentioned before!

M&S are notorious for using the outdated "add 4 inches" method of bra fitting. They are the main reason people end up in ill-fitting bras in the first place.
Measure her properly, as per the link.
Tight round the ribcage is the band size, looser round the fullest part of the bust for a starting point on the cups.
The difference between the two measurements gives cup size:

Thank you! She seems to be a A-B fiiting(1 1/2") Inmysparetime she is still begging me for one but still undecided... I will probably get her one I think...
