Minecraft server MC Central - inappropriate sexual content

Have just noticed on the 'chat' on my sons favourite Minecraft server that there is a significant amount of sexual 'chat' going on. This involves entirely inappropriate sexual references of a pornographic nature (difficult to explain without examples but ...)

I wanted to make sure other parents were aware. We don't know who runs MC Central or whether they have any interest in checking out for sexual content at all? Does anyone have any ideas?

Our ten year old is upset as he has several friends who use the same server and doesn't want to leave it as he says it is the best one to play on with most options! Obviously we have his well being central to all this and we have now cut off chat. But this means he can't chat with his friends during the games.

Any insights and information would be appreciated!

It's dodgy, they can talk about anything. Can he/you set up his own server?

They already have another server but with far less options. Also he says he would have to leave his friends. Obviously there are things that are more important however like him being exposed to verbal pornography.

It's more a question for me about why they don't post moderate and take sanctions against this as it has nothing to do with Minecraft which is a very good game.

I guess that's why I'm wondering why the wonderful creators of it don't control it more.

He needs to go on a closed server where the only people on it are his friends - this is not a minecraft issue. He is ten. Of course there will be problems if he goes onto an unmoderated part of the internet with anonymous people. You can set up and host your own server for a small fee - look into it. Many people who play minecraft are adults, it's not just for kids.

Sorry! I have clearly not listened to those talks closely enough at school.
Thank you.

Anyone can start a server, but there are plenty that are ok for kids so perhaps he and his friends can find one. Or start one together.
