DH is hoping to hand in next month. I'm close to tears as I write this as we've barely had a weekend to ourselves since he started it and I'm so so proud of him. I'd like to get him something to celebrate completion once he's vivad etc. but I'm stuck for ideas. we also have a newborn so I wanted to get something from our son too...maybe a t shirt saying Dr. Daddy...or is that a bit naff?

Am in your dh shoes...I would appreciate sleep, and a weekend of not working Smile.. Maybe a babysitter and a nice meal out? Is he set on an academic career (thinking of something that may be good for that line of work..)

Ahh I might do some vouchers then as he's missed out on so many of his hobbies and leisure time due to his PhD and now having the little one so I could do a book of vouchers for things :)
Yes he's continuing into academia. He secured a job as a lecturer which he started in September and he's continuing research too. Definitely will do the meal out as well :)
