Hi all, my DD is almost 3 months old. She has a bout of gastroenteritis which the doctor has said should go away on its own buts its left her bum so sore she screams everytime she does a poo (which is 6 or 7 times a day at the mo) the doc has said it should go once she is over the diarrhoea and in the mean time I'm using a nappy rash ointment from boots to try and treat it, and she has had Calpol when its really bad but I was wondering if anyone had any experience or tips in easing her pain :(

Also a fan of cornflower here. DS had awful nappy rash last year and it cleared it up in no time.

Also it's a pain but after each poop was the bottom in the sink with cool water and dry with a towel. I also changed DS every 2hrs.

DS2 recently had a horrid nappy rash from a food reaction (avocado - who knew?) blisters, bleeding etc... Warm water rather than wipes and savlon cream worked a treat.

DS1 has horrendous nappy rash a couple of weeks back, almost blistering. Yes metanium is great, defo use that. But also, ditch the baby wipes, even the expensive water wipes which we normally use. As soon as I switched to cotton wool and water it cleared up.

Mix warm water and olive oil and use that to wipe her bum for changing nappy. Or you could use sun flower oil. And just dab, bc wiping hurts more. Let her bump get lots of air and make sure it is dry before putting new diaper on. LEt it dry and dab gently some more cream. It works like a charm to heal diaper rash. Hope she gets over her tummy bug asap.

It seems like its been going around everywhere last few weeks!
