Baby screaming when tired etc

I know babies are supposed to cry, but DD (7 months) has started screaming- a real high pitch shrill scream when she is tired/hungry/having her nappy changed. She's slway distractable and fine once fed/napped/whatever, but the intensity of her screams make me panic that something is wrong. Is this a normal developmental thing?

Yes I found they discover "volume" and use it to best effect! Grin Mine does it happy or sad!

My 5mo DS2 has started a short repetitive whine that sounds like a dog.
I think they like to experiment with sounds and work out "so what does mummy do when I make THIS sound..??"
