Popper vests.

Hi,

When do other mums think a child is too old for popper vests ?

I have a 3yr old still in nappies full time, he hasn't worn them for a while but now that warmer weather is coming he's wearing less clothes and I'd like something to cover the nappy properly.

I'm not sure whether he's too old for them but a local shop sells them upto 3+ yrs so there must be other mums using them at this age.

They're too old for popper vests when popper vests are no longer practical/comfortable.

We stopped using them when they potty trained (at 2/2.5) because they were no longer practical.

You can put pants on over the top of the nappy to keep it in place if you/your child prefer. Maybe when it's too warm for a vest.

When they were 2 and had started potty training.

I stopped using them when they were out of nappies so 18 months and 2 years respectively.

I think there isn't a time limit. If they stop being practical, stop using them.

We stopped using them when my son potty trained at 2.8 but we still use them at night as they keep his nappy in place. I brought vest extenders so his aged 2-3year old vests fit him at 3.10.

We stopped using them when dd was potty trained at 2.5yrs.

We're stopping them now and ds is 15 months. He's a funny shape! He's got a really long torso so to make the poppers fit then neck is pulled down. He loves his new vests because he can pull them up and show people his tummySmile

DS is 2.5 and I struggle to find vests that fit him. He's always had a long body so was in the next size up. Age 2-3 vests seem very hard to come by.

Most people I know stopped using vests much earlier but I think they are so nice and comfy and keep his tummy warm. I guess in the Summer we might try and potty train so maybe then we will stop.
