  1. On average how many nappies do you use in a day? 6

  2. How much money are you willing to pay for nappies? £5-£10, generally. Depends on the type of nappy.

  3. Where do you buy them from? Internet (kittykins or twinkle for new, ebay or nappy forums for used)

  4. which brands do you use? (here goes...)
(mostly) Fuzzi Bunz, Wonderoos, Nature Babies stuffables, Supa Dupas, Bear Behinds, Banana Babies pockets
(not so much any more, but when DS was younger) Slinki Minkis, Tots Bots (regular + Bamboozle + Fluffle), Bumbles, Huggles. I'm probably forgetting something else, too.

  5. How well would you rate the appearance of your nappies? Very high (who, me, shallow?)

  6. How well would you rate the performance of the nappies? Very high

  7. How would you improve the nappies you use and why? I'm actually very happy with them

i would be amazed if these results turn out to be demographically typical - so far i think i'm the only disposables-only poster! thought i'd join in to add a degree of reality . imho cloth users more likely to respond.

  1. Are you male or female? FEMALE
  2. how old are you? 28
  1. where do you live? PLYMOUTH
  1. What is your employment status? WORK FULL TIME
  2. How many children do you have? ONE
  3. What are their ages? 14 MONTHS
  1. What gender are they? MALE
  1. Do you use cloth or disposable nappies? CLOTH and DISPOSABLE ( disposable at night and if all cloth are dirty/in the wash)
  1. Have you used them before your child/ren were born? NO
  1. On average how many nappies do you use in a day? 4 or 5

  2. How much money are you willing to pay for nappies? I pay about £4.50 for about 30 disposables ( usually go for supermarket own brand...the eco-friendlier ones cost more and I am stingy). Cloth nappies have all been bought 2nd hand between £3 and £5 per nappy and the same for wraps depending on age/quality.

  3. Where do you bye them from? Disposables from sainsburys or morrisons (becuase they are near my house) Liners from Boots. Cloth nappies have come from Nappy Lady web site classified section.

  4. which brands do you use? Motherease one size and tots bots ( with nippas) Wraps - any really! As before, disposables I use own brands - I don't actually rate pampers etc etc tbh.

  5. How well would you rate the appearance of your nappies? Cloth ones are very nice. Disposables can be a bit cutesypie. But I don't really care that much!

  6. How well would you rate the performance of the nappies? They are all fine. I use disposables at night because I found cloth ones tended to leak by morning. Only problems I've had with leaking is when they have been VERY saturated after long car journey etc (or when nursery don't put the wrap onproperly!)

  7. How would you improve the nappies you use and why? Cheaper eco ones. That's it really. I suppose quicker drying cloth ones woudl be good too.

  3. Where do you bye them from? tesco and asda

  4. which brands do you use? pampers and huggies

  5. How well would you rate the appearance of your nappies? my DD loves them - dora the explorer and princesses

  6. How well would you rate the performance of the nappies? fantastic - rarely leak, fit well, easy on , easy off

  7. How would you improve the nappies you use and why? make them more eco friendly. Tried the reuseable ones at first and found that DD1 was so slim in the leg and yet ate loke a horse - big poo on little baby = leakage. After endless rounds of wet bedding, gave in and bought disposable. Never looked back. Bit ashamed about it as I would have loved to stay a bit greener but became impractical.

  1. Are you male or female? female
  1. how old are you? 29
  1. where do you live? London
  1. What is your employment status? on maternity leave
  1. How many children do you have? one
  1. What are their ages? 6 months old
  1. What gender are they? boy
  1. Do you use cloth or disposable nappies? both (cloth when at home, disposable when out and at night)
  1. Have you used them before your child/ren were born? No
  1. On average how many nappies do you use in a day? depends, usually about 6 or 7, fewer on disposable days (partly because they don't leak as quickly and partly I am usually out and about those days, therefore have less opportunity to change DS)

  2. How much money are you willing to pay for nappies? up to £10 for a cloth nappy, up to 20p for a disposable

  3. Where do you bye them from? cloth nappies - on internet and from local baby shops. Disposables - from Sainsbury

  4. which brands do you use? cloth: I use totsbots fluffles and bamboozle nappies and wraps and motherease wraps. Disposables, I use nature baby care.

  5. How well would you rate the appearance of your nappies? both types very nice but prefer cloth nappies.

  6. How well would you rate the performance of the nappies? Cloth: ok for day but I have yet to find one that can get through the night without a leak. Disposable: fine but could improve on comfort (rather scratchy)

  7. How would you improve the nappies you use and why? Cloth: I would like to see a combi fluffle/bamboozle, ie a fluffle outer with a bamboozle booster. This would combine the virtues of both types ie the drying speed of the fluffle and the absorbancy of the bamboozle! Wraps: I find the velcro fasteners can chaff if they get out of position. I'd like to see a better/softer fastener - aplix maybe? Disposable: they can be a bit scratchy, particularly the sticky tabs.

Good luck with your course!

  1. Are you male or female? Female
  1. how old are you? 29
  1. where do you live? Northallerton, North Yorkshire
  1. What is your employment status? Full time, but on maternity leave
  1. How many children do you have? One
  1. What are their ages? 3 months
  1. What gender are they? Boy
  1. Do you use cloth or disposable nappies? Cloth (terries) during the day. Disposables at night and when out and about.
  1. Have you used them before your child/ren were born? Disposables yes. Terries no.
  1. On average how many nappies do you use in a day? 5 or 6

  2. How much money are you willing to pay for nappies? As much as they cost for disposables. Paid £30 for 18 terry nappies.

  3. Where do you bye them from? Terries from Mothercare. Disposables mostly from Tesco.

  4. which brands do you use? Terry square. Tesco's own brand disposables or Pampers New Baby.

  5. How well would you rate the appearance of your nappies? Terries still looking good.

  6. How well would you rate the performance of the nappies? Very good for wee, not so brilliant for soft poo. Tesco's and Pampers NB very good (tried Pampers Baby Dry - terrible)

  7. How would you improve the nappies you use and why? I would make the terry squares slightly larger and make them stay square when washed. I would also make accessories such as liners and waterproof pants as widely available as disposable nappies. Currently have to travel 15 miles to nearest Mothercare/large Boots or buy online.
