Breast feeding 6month and citrus

Hi,

I've started weaning, he's on 3 meals a day but several breast feeds a day and all night long so I was wondering about reintroducing fruit infused water for myself.
I used to drink a lot of it before I gave Birth.
It literally water with lemon, lime, cucumber and mint in.
Drink about 1-2litres a day.

This should be ok now? It will be very dilute anyway but as he's weaning it shouldn't cause any problems now?

Tia

What have you been drinking in the meantime?!? It would always have been ok, you don't have to avoid citrus whilst bfing.
You could give the baby the water now if you wanted.

You can eat and drink what you want when breastfeeding.

Unless it's gin by the pint of course.

However tempted you may be by the behaviour of the toddler Grin

Gin by the pint is also pretty unlikely to do any damage. You'd be unconscious before you could drink enough to harm the baby.

I stopped drinking it after birth as he seemed to cry a lot and I was advised to 'analyse my diet' and the first thing I cut out was the citrus fruits and he seemed happier.

I have just been off any sort of citrus juice/water so just been drinking copious amounts of decaf tea (caffeinated gives me headaches) and regular water!

Good to know though. I just assume that now he is weaning his little system should handle it better.
Here's hoping!! I've packed on weight since dropping this water and want to shift some of these pounds!!
