I need to get my 22-month-old DS some lightweight summer trainers/ pumps/sandals to go on holiday next week. To date Ive bought startrite and clarks shoes, although he did wear puma trainers last summer.

Does anyone know which named trainer brand have the widest fit out of all the main ones: adidas, nike, vans , puma etc. I know Startrite and clarks do trainers/sandals but wanted to look at something different first.

I may well end up in clarks yet but would be interested to know if anyone had experience of wider widths with named trainers? I know some are wider than others but don't know which!

I dont know about the brands you list, but Vivobarefoot are really wide.

Pediped are good.

All of the brands mentioned don't do width just basic sizes I think

Both my dc have very wide feet and none of those brands are very wide. I have been told by sales assistants that most footwear is made to a standard F fitting.

I'd go for clarks doodles. They're lovely and come in width fittings.

Go to an independent shoe shop, or a department store like john Lewis that sells different brands, rather than Clarks, who only sell their own offerings.

They often have a wide range of brands, and you will get a really good fit.

Ricosta are fab for wide footed kids.

Not had this issue recently but DSS has always had wide feet and Adidas allstars shell toes were always quite a generous width.

Used to also have Nike huaraches and still finds them comfy.

DS started out a G width, he's now a H.

Staff in Clarks told me Adidas is the best bet in trainers, and I have found this to be true. Don't even think about Converse!

All 3 of mine have H width feet and we find Geox trainers are by far the best.

Adidas 'orthofit' trainers are nice and wide and available in Sports Direct. They aren't really labelled as such, but it says it inside the shoe.
