Must......not......burst....

Just had the day from hell with normally wonderful 22 month old ds

He's got a cold, I've got it too, so therefore we are both grumpy and feeling sorry for ourselves. Plus PMT hormones surging like the red sea that will be in 2 days. Patience stretched and close to twanging point.

Me = White jumper covered in egg. Pumpkin in hair (tried distracting both of us by "fun" activity of carving haloween pumpkin outside on patio. BIG mistake. Huge.) Face v. red from blood vessels on face near bursting because of pressure in head as a result of trying really really hard not to be the one to break first. Knees in jeans filthy after falling over on garden after trying to cheer us both up by being the "blankie monster" but tripping over toy on lawn because said blankie over head obscured view.

I don't know how they take me serioulsy at work.

He = now in bed, sweetly scented after bath and smiling faintly in sleep so obviously having a lovely dream about puppies or kittens or something else equally as inappropriate to my mood.

It's just not fair being a mum sometimes.

Just poured v large glass of wine. First of many tonight I think.

Ruddy nora I think it sounds like you have done a sterling job. I would not attempt half of that even if I was feeling 100% and my normal method of looking after children while ill is to sulk a lot.

Hope you feel better tomorrow.
