Only naps on me after a cold

My 5 month old dd had a dreadful cold recently and I/my DM/DH had her sleep upright on us to relieve the snot.
She used to be very good at naps: after a feed and some rocking could be put down. 40 mins typically, 3 naps a day. Never over tired.

Well now she's lost that ability (in the day - perfectly ok at night).
If she's not on me she just doesn't sleep.
No crying, no distress when left to settle. But just can't anymore.

The pram, sling and car journeys work. Just not her sleepyhead bed in the day.
She's clean, fed, in dark, white noise and I get her drowsy first but nope. Eyes open.

Any tips? I get nervous she just won't get a nap after I've left her 45 min so I cave in and it's holding or pram nap but with that plus the 45 min trying it's limiting our lives a lot. Sad

Cut out the 45 minute trying and let her nap on you for now, then you'll have a rested baby. If she's sleeping in the sling and in the pram you can get stuff done. My DS has much better and deeper sleeps on me so I go with that to make sure that I have a happy perky child the rest of the time! Easier for us at the moment then hours wasted waiting for him to settle in cot, he wakes after 20 mins, resettle him, he wakes again, hasn't had enough sleep and grumbles for ages. This can take all morning, or I can give him breakfast and play, he zonks out on me 9- 10.30 or 11, and then he's so rested we can go out for 3-4 hours fine after.

Yep. Today I also took her out and she fell asleep, and is still asleep once home. Smile Thanks. Smile
