tommee tippee steriliser

Hi

not sure if this is the right place to post but we have had our steraliser for 3 months and descale regularly.
Have noticed over past few days when I wipe it out after use grey/black streaks on the cloth coming from the grey coloured element on the bottom..

Does anyone know what this is and how to prevent it or do i just need a new one?

I've used mine for a yr with my first child and now 2 months with my second and I've not had this problem, how often are you descaling it, maybe its too often?

Have you used any other cleaner in the machine that could be causing the issue?

I'd try running it without bottles a few times giving it a rinse with plain water in between runs to see if the problem stops.

I found that ours did this when it had been descaled. I started using filter water and descaled it less and it didn't happen as much. After about 2 yrs the grey element started leaking so I use a microwave one now. No issues at all.

I brought it back to the store and got a replacement as they said it could be unsafe if the particles where steaming around the baby's bottles.

Will mayb hold back on my descaling routine a little!!
