Doctors or no doctors?

DS is just about to turn 7 months, he has an obvious cold, will only eat yogurt or fruit purée and not interested in milk, I can get a couple of oz down him but nowhere near the usual amount and he just wants to sleep for hours at a time not at night though sadly
Past 3 nights he has been sick everywhere, he wakes up for a bottle and it comes straight back up.

My DP is on antibiotics for a throat infection and I'm worried baby has caught it, should I take him to the DR or am I being PFB and it's just a cold and carry on with calpol.....

(I write this in a sheet-less bed as he was sick on those yesterday night and wearing sick covered pjamas as I've just got him off to sleep after 2 hours and I'm not risking opening the drawers incase it wakes him up. I also have the cold and now feel like I've been hit by a bus Confused today I will need coffee!)

I'd take him if he's been off fluids for so long + vomiting. Has he been taking water?

Ilovenannyplum · 10/03/2015 05:41

Yes, well the HIPP apple juice. I've been offering that all day and he'll drink it. So he is getting some fluids just not that 'normal' amount

What are his nappies like? Do you think he's dehydrated? The vomiting concerns me. If he's eating, even if just yoghurt etc, as long as nappies ok I'd not bother with the doctor. But gp will be happy to see you, they would much rather reassure you than miss seeing a child that needs attention. Call 111 maybe?

Many GPS will do a phone consultation if you've a kid and are unsure. Does yours offer this? It's been my pfb lifeline!

My doctors are rubbish, they just about answer the phones to book appts let alone anything else Hmm

His nappies are wet/dirty, he's still hardly taking any milk but since 6am, I've got 3oz of milk (he usually has 7oz first thing) most of a cereal breakfast jar and 1oz of baby juice into him so I feel less worried now.

Last night was awful so I'm hoping he's over the worst of it, I think I was doing paranoid crack of dawn PFB postings it's not the first time! Confused
