21 week old crying when passing wind at night

My ds is ebf. He poos and passes wind with no trouble during the day (sometimes even with a smile!) but during the night it's a different story. He will wake once or twice crying and straining to pass wind, once it's passed he will most often settle himself back to sleep but it's awful hearing him sound like he's in pain.

When he was younger I would often help him along by peddling his legs and pushing them up to his belly which would often relieve him but as he's got older, this doesn't seem to work anymore and he just gets more agitated.

Does anyone else have this problem in the night?

We used to! Around 6 months it just sort of... stopped happening. Maybe something to do with introducing solids, but it's not a problem any more.

This too, etc!

Thanks egog! We just cracked the 'waking every hour to feed' thing so hoping when this passes it will help him to sleep for longer than three hour stretches. Must repeat to self, this too shall pass!

You'll get there! Smile
