Has anyone installed the Chicco Next To Me crib?

Hi all. I will be buying this product and understand that if you have a divan bed the straps on the crib go under and around the mattress in order to secure it.I have seen a review which says the straps are even long enough to go around a king mattress.Has anyone actually strapped this around a double mattress?I checked the product out in person but stupidly didn't take measurements and I'm worried the straps are not long enough. Thanks!

Didn't want to read and run. Yes I have one, its amazing. I have a metal frame bed but I can say the straps are very long. Hopefully someone else with a similar bed to you will comment.
Well done on a fantastic purchase! Wouldn't be without mine Grin

Im watching a few on eBay despite DP saying I am NOT buying another crib. Already have a crib but not a co sleeping one!

Rosiegal - Thank you! Yes I think it should be ok but I will visit mothercare again to double check the measurements! It's such a lovely spacious crib. I did look at others whilst in the store and some are beyond tiny and I couldn't imagine them lasting very long!!!!

MsRyanG - Haha just ignore DP! I have a lovely DP who has no clue about baby products. I told him what we needed instead of asking!! Haha. Poor men are clueless! ! :)

Haha I intend to! Although we are on DC4 so he knows his way about a bit more than he used to Grin

A 2nd one and a new mattress is ok eh?

irishamy89 · 04/03/2015 21:39

Ah I see so he's a little wiser than mine and me probably! !! Haha.
I will be buying mine new however like any baby bed I don't think there is an issue as long as you get a new mattress.
The crib is nice and big too so should last until six months unlike some of the doll sized ones in mothercare! !

MrsRG - I just had a crib but baby would NOT sleep in it. Had to buy one of these and it was an absolute lifesaver. Can't answer on straps but it's a fantastic crib, and works as a travel cot too.

Anyone had any luck attaching a mobile on it?

HotSteppa · 05/03/2015 10:21

hiya we have this cot and its been brilliant, would definitely recommend, we have a king size bed and although I am sure the strap would go round, its perfectly stable without and we haven't attached it. seriously its alongside the bed and there is no gap and no wobble, even when my toddler manages to get past us and clamber in Blush its totally stable. I would also be interested if anyone has managed to attach a mobile although my jewellery rack thing is above it and he seems quite happy gazing at my necklaces and earings especially when bedside light is on below it !

irishamy89 · 05/03/2015 11:18

Hotsteppa - Thanks for your advice. I feel even more confident about buying it now.
Regarding a mobile I would assume that there should be one that has an attachment with a wide enough grip to hold on but I haven't personally started looking yet!!

I had to send a mobile back recently! It was the fisher-price rainforest friends one. There's no way of attaching it to the chicco next 2me. :-(
And, I can't see that you could attach any kind of mobile to it.

I have a kingsize divan bed, and the strapping is plenty long!
