Any suggestions welcome. My dd has never been perfect with toilet training but only the odd accident each week. She was late starting with potty training so not yet a year out of nappies. However now she is wetting or slightly pooing pants everyday, if we are out she stays dry but at home or nursery she has little accidents. Not the full wee but enough to wet knickers and trousers. Have tried being nice 'never mind' etc, tried telling off, and today I'm trying ignoring and not even reminding her to go to toilet as this recently makes her cry! So far she has wet herself and I ignored it until she went to the toilet on her own, then she changed her knickers and claimed 'that was not an accident mummy!!'

She could be holding in her poos and consequently wees too. Maybe take her to the GP in case she has constipation. She could be trying to be in control of herself and testing you by holding it in! Then, when there's too much poo in her rectum, it starts to come out (letting out some wee too). It might not be that but worth checking with GP in case there's an underlying problem. My DD did the same and in the end in got so bad she needed medication to soften the blocked up poo. I thought the main problem was bladder control but it was constipation. Not making a big deal of it though is good else she'll worry and hold it in even more.

Possibly has a little infection or maybe for attention if there has been any changes in your lifestyle lately.

Thanks, just got back to mumsnet after a couple of even worse days. How do i know if sh'e constipated? She eats lots of fruit and veg but is never long on the toilet, just sits, poos and thats it. Can't seem to make her sit to see if there's more coming. I am getting desparate and quite worried....
