Bullying

Since my 7 year old went up into year 3 he has been in the "big" playground, the ages of this playground run from 7 to 11 and since september he has had non-stop bother from the year 4's.

I went in, they said they would speak to the kids involved and the next day they were at it again...I went in a second time and again they said they would speak to them, the week later they were at it again. I went to see the headmistress who said that it would be personally sorted about by her and if it continued the kids parents would be informed (fat lot of good that would do since their parents are probably just as bad).

Anyway last week, before the kids broke up for half term my son told me he was having bother AGAIN from one particular kid and his friend, again in year 4...on friday he came out of school very sad, turned out he and his friends had been playing and a couple of the year 4's started punching and kicking them and it ended in my sons friend being slammed against the brick wall, cutting his head open and being rushed to the hospital.

The whole thing is absolutely ridiculous, I can't really change his school at the moment as the only other school in the area is worse than his current one and my car is not on the road so it would be hard for me to take him further afield.

What can I do to make the school take this issue seriously?? I'm sick of going in being greeted by smiling teachers and being told "it will be sorted", one of them will end up being bloody killed before they'll take it seriously by the looks of it.

Thaigal - can you go to the governors if the head hasn't sorted it out? Does the school have a published anti-bullying code which you can make sure they invoke? Especially if there has been an injury (making it more than your word against theirs).

I wish you luck, I was bullied at school and I wish people had taken it more seriously then.
