I'm going back to work when dd is 8 months. She is breastfed and I'm planning on continuing to feed her from the breast morning and night with a bottle of ebm at midday for the childminder to give her. Would she need formula inbetween aswell. I know it depends on the baby, but I've no clue!

Itd be something like
7:30 breast
12:00 ebm
5:00 breast
7:00 bedtime top up breast
10:00 breast
Night feeds as required.

Does that sound enough? She'll be on proper food by then also hopefully.

Could she have water instead of formula?

At 8 months old my bottle fed ds had 4 daytime milk feeds plus 3 meals so:
milk at 7, 11, 3, 7 (all rough times) food at 8, 12, 5

My 7 mo has
6am breastfeed
5pm breastfeed
7pm breastfeed
2am breastfeed (ish, on demand at night but he normally only wakes up once)

I am at work the whole day, DH offers a bottle of ebm which he won't drink.

He's eating lots of food including fruit purees etc and seems to have lots of wet nappies.

Your plan sounds fine to me :)

Thanks for your help both.

Goldfishspy - what does he drink through the day?

Hi Kate,
We offer milk, Ben and water through the day - he probably only has about 2 oz in total.

I was reassured by a Jack Newman article - I will see if I can find it....
