Not convinced I am actually having a little girl!

Two days ago, I had my 20 week scan. The lady who did it was straight to the point a bit blunt. She checked everything she had to and was fine. She said oh I think that's a little girl as absence of boys parts indicates a girl. She didn't say definitely a girl. She didn't appear to look at the front of the genitals but from behind (the bottom area). At the end we said so we're having little girl then? She said yes it would appear so. No definitely, no yes it's a girl etc.

I am delighted but secretly worried she got it wrong.

Any advice?

i dont think they can ever say definitely, yes because there is always a chance theyd be wrong? Certainly seemed that way when i went to a friends scan, they dont tell you in my area. Because the chance theyd be wrong is fairly small but could land them in a lot of bother! congratulations!

They can never tell 100 %, just tell you what they think they see. And tbh their priority is checking that everything looks ok so if they can see gender its a bonus

They will never give a definite answer, as they can never be 100% sure. It's always best to presume they may be wrong. The only way to get another opinion is to pay for a private scan. We had a 4D scan at 30 weeks last time and they confirmed girl. Still didn't take it to be 100% though and all our newborn stuff was neutral just in case.

We had a private gender scan and the angle they look at to check is from below, as it they're sat on a glass table and you're looking up.

At the anomaly scan they don't give any definites but at 20 weeks with an experienced sonographer they very rarely get it wrong, it does sound as if yours was sure.
