Last night while I was washing my DS's hair I came across a big bruise on his head along with an egg, now to me this means he fell/ hit his head but I did not get a accident form to sign when I picked him up from childcare so decided to phone to hear if he fell over in the day I was told no which is fine I guess, now I know he will get hurt he is a 20 mo old boy but is it unreasonable of me to think that when I'm at work and he is at childcare that I get informed at the end of the day if he has had an accident?

Maybe they didn't see it happen? I nursery or at the childminders they have a duty to tell you if they've had a an accident, particularly a bump to the head.

Definitely not unreasonable to call and ask, but it does just sound like it wasn't seen. I guess he can't have cried that much or they would have noticed that.

I would express some concern that it wasn't seen, personally. I worked in childcare for a few years and it was a major thing if a child got hurt and no one had seen it happen. There are always going to be times, of course, and there's little you can do about it, but I would definitely let them know that you aren't too happy, especially given how young he is.
