Apologies in advance if this sounds ridiculously neurotic. Dd is going on a trip to France next month. The children are all supposed to wear a regulation hoodie designed by the school especially when travelling. They have been asked to choose what they want written on the back - they apparently can have anything they want.

Would it be ok for her to have her name on the back? I've heard it said before that children shouldn't wear clothes that advertise their names but These days it seems to be common for sports teams etc.

I should let her have whatever she wants. I don't see a problem with a just a first name written on the back. DDs school did that for all those at the end of GCSEs and A Levels

Why are they allowed to choose what's printed on it? Ours had XXX School Paris Tour 2014 on it; the whole point was that they were all the same.

They are allowed to choose just the personalised bit I think.
