teething powder, what age?

I'm not sure if DS 15 weeks is teething but he seems more unsettled than normal (didn't think that would be possible). hands constantly in his mouth, randomly screaming in pain for no obvious reason. feeding a bit off, not latching on as well. could it be teeth, I've looked in his mouth. I can see the two top front teeth at the front of his gums but they don't look particularly inflamed. refluxing more than normal.
anyway I know it's a bit early for teeth (although not unheard of) but can I use teething powders yet? there's no age on the packet? ? would it do him any harm if the cause for the fussiness isn't teething?
thanks

Teething gel is fine at that age. Works well too!

DD has been teething from 9 weeks! Dentinox works well, as does a finger to chew on and a cold muslin. There's also this really nifty teething glove for babies unable to put toys in and out of their mouths.

You can use Ashton and Parsons from 3 months, and my god, it worked like a dream on DS. Half a sachet at this age.

Powders are fine. Just a thought, could he have oral thrush? Symptoms are very like those you've described (but they also could be just teething!). Look for white patches in mouth.

Both mine had their first two bottom teeth at 3 months old. Those sachets were brilliant.

thanks all, west country I've checked his mouth and can't see any white patches but will keep that in mind, thank you.
