pelvic floor nightmare

I've had 4 pregnancies all natural births, the last 1 was twins 9 months ago. Since then I've been having problems with stress incontinence, more often than not with coughing. I currently have a cough which is no fun what's so ever. Last night I woke up with 1 of my usual coughing fits that makes me sick, coughing, puking and leaking urine really not one of my best moments. I have given in and decided I've had more than enough time to recover from birth and may actually have a problem. I've been trying to do pelvic floor exercises since couple of weeks after birthbut there just doesn't seem to be any muscles to work with anymore and sex is just rubbish.
Has anyone got any tips or tricks to help before I build up the courage to go to drs.
The twins have completely broken me in more ways than one.

I would go and see you Doctor. My doctor mentioned that if needed she would refer me to physio for pelvic floor problems. I do pilates and have pyhsio for separated tummy muscles, the exercises from both help with stress incontinence...at its very best the stress incontinence goes away completely if I do the exercises every day.

Doctor.

Also, the Hab-it website and DVD is very very good. Its not just kegels you need to be doing...

I went to see a women's physio who is based in our maternity hospital. She sorted me right out.

My gp refered me, it was a bit odd telling my gp but I'm so glad I did as I'm practcally normal again. You won't be anything the haven't seen before

I suffered for 10 years before having a surgical procedure about 7 years ago. I think it's called vaginal tape. Very straightforward , no pain afterwards, effective immediately. My only regret is that I waited so long! It maybe sounds drastic but I would really recommend it. Hope you find a solution because I really couldn't do anything without leaking. I was in a folk dancing group and I had to wear adult nappies!

Your doctor cn prescribe a pelvic toner for free.

I saw the gp's referral and the physio wasnt that good + long waiting list. I went to see a specialised physio and she was magic! I absolutely adore her! I am only worried that she might retire one day and i wont have her support just in case... I needed about 6-7 sessions at £55 a session (north london). The first 2-3 sessions were reinbursed by my private insurance.really worthy she had a machine sending me electrical signals to make my pelvic floor work - not super comfortable, but brilliant results. I still leak though if i run over 6-7km buti think i need to lose weight (i was leaking as soon as i was running before)
