Does anyone know where I can get cheap vests/bodysuits (long and short sleeve). Most places seem expensive!

TIA

Tesco, sainsburys, any supermarket in fact or primark?

Or try a baby selling site on fb for second hand ones. Give them a wash and they're as good as new?

mrsnlw · 23/02/2015 10:55

Thanks Fructose I've looked in those places (and bought some previously) I just think £7 for 5 vests is a bit steep IMO.

Will give FB sites a whirl.

Look up NCT nearly new sales near you. There are usually quite a few in February/March and even without membership so many clothes are sold there is usually good pickings after members have had a nosey.

I think you'll have to look at secondhand if you want to pay less than that. eBay often have huge bundles, local selling sites are good and keep your eye out for nearly new sales nearby.

Daisy17 · 23/02/2015 11:21

Just over a £1 a vest is steep?!?! Blimey.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 23/02/2015 11:22

Although I'm with Daisy. I dread to think what conditions the people who make them work in for them to be sold at just over £1 a vest!

mrsnlw · 23/02/2015 11:24

When you're having to fork out like £21 for 20 vests yes, it is steep!

Especially when you can get a few outfits for that price!

AntiHop · 23/02/2015 11:30

You'll have no problem finding them second hand from any of the suggestions above. I bet if you put a wanted post on your local freecycle someone will offer them to you.

MicrochipsAndMemories · 23/02/2015 11:30

what size vests are you after? we have loads if you want to buy some. all clean and from a smoke free home Smile

mrsnlw · 23/02/2015 11:34

MicrochipsAndMemories · 23/02/2015 11:35

ahh our little boy is still in that size. Check out eBay you might get lucky.

PannaDoll · 23/02/2015 11:46

How many kids do you have that you need to buy 20 vests?

mrsnlw · 23/02/2015 11:49

Panna I have one son but he goes through 4/5 vests a day sometimes.

OP posts:
peggyundercrackers · 23/02/2015 11:58

4 or 5 in a day? what are you/is he doing to go through that many? that seems a tad excessive.

bberry · 23/02/2015 12:04

Go tortoise local childrens centre, where they do lovely free classes and ours also has a clothing corner where you can get 2nd hand stuff for free... I dropped loads of baby stuff there the other week... We love the free classes and I think it's a great way to repay the centre/help other families

They also have food donation collection there too

Take them back when you are finished with them too...

[[http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/181673782542?nav=SEARCH EBay - 8 long sleeve, 5 short sleeve £6.30)

shitebag · 23/02/2015 12:13

Oops link fail!

£6.30 for 8 short sleeve and 5 long sleeve.

mrsnlw · 23/02/2015 12:18

Peggy depends on sickness/leakage. Not excessive if hes covered in food/milk/shit to change IMO! I wouldnt stay in such clothes!

bbery will give them a google :)

shitebag - ill have a look - did u get the selling ID?

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 23/02/2015 12:23

Well I think £7 for 5 is very reasonable, but OK.

Try ebay for bundles, they tend to be much cheaper when you want lots in one go.

peggyundercrackers · 23/02/2015 12:29

mrsnlw no I would agree - just seems a lot compared to what we went through (never more than 2 in a day on a rare occassion) but appreciate all babies are different.

mrsnlw · 23/02/2015 12:38

Peggy sometimes its one a day. Sometimes 5... lol

OP posts:
shitebag · 23/02/2015 12:46

Sorry no, it should be a direct link above.

They're used though just to be clear.

PannaDoll · 23/02/2015 12:46

That's a lot of vests. I only used one a day unless the vest got wet or covered in a lot of squirty poo. She didn't smear food all over herself though so didn't have to think too much about it.
