I've tried massage and warm baths but her poos are always pellets and she crys pooing so I want to try a little water, but I'm wondering is it best to give a couple of ml before each feed or one small bottle a day, and how much should she have?

She is gaining weight well and is approx 5kgs and drinking 900ml to a liter a day so i don't think losing 30ml of milk a day will be a problem short term.

I personally wouldn't at this young age. When I moved ds to ff after finishing bf he got very constipated on a particular brand. Have you tried different formulas. Also have experience of the hungry baby formula causing constipation so again worth a look if you're using this. Has this always been a problem? Possible intolerance to the lactose maybe?

Try different brands but otherwise small amount of cooled boiled water should be fine

We had this problem and moved to aptimal comfort milk which helped. I think water is fine for ff babies but only really if it's due to dehydration/hot weather rather than constipation. Whatever you do don't water down feeds. I found feeding to a routine helped too, rather than little and often throughout the day, have her a chance to fully digest each feed properly.

Have you tried moving to Cow and Gate or Aptimil comfort milk? It's available in supermarkets, it's not a medicated milk as such - just a slightly different formulation which basically has a bit of a laxative effect if the baby struggles with wind or constipation. Maybe try that first?
