Best carrier for a toddler, advice appreciated

I have a baby connecta which I used with ds1 til he was 16months and now use for ds2. Ds1 is 21months and a keen walker but there is the odd time when it would be handy to have a carrier to pop him in so I'm looking at getting a toddler carrier which I could then use with ds2 when we're keeping up with his big bro! I want another soft carrier with buckles which I can do front and back carries with, I'm just not sure what type to get. I like the connecta but wonder if the more padded model like rose and rebellion might be more comfy with a heavy toddler?

I'm happy with my beco gemini. I bought it for DC2, but 2year old DC1 fits in it. Beco do a toddler version though, I think

We have a Boba 4G. It's really good. Haven't used it for back carries yet but all the reviews are great and it's been super for front.

I am a fan of the Tula carrier and have a toddler one, however I have had a Rose and rebellion pre-school carrier in the past and I think I may get another as it was really comfortable. I like the Tula carriers but the shoulder straps are quite thick.

Connecta do a pre-school carrier now (as well as the toddler carrier). If you are in the South East they have a shop so you could go in and try before you buy.

Thanks everyone I will check out all those brands. One thing which confused me was the sizing as each make seems to do things differently would the pre-school Rose and a Rebellion be too big for a 21month old? He is tall but not huge, have no idea what weight he is.

Definitely toddler Tula! Really comfortable; one of the best baby products I brought.

Ergobaby performance - DD is now three and we are still using it. Packs up small and can be put in a backpack when we are out and about, then pulled out at the end of the day when she is tired.

KiBi baby carrier - adjusts from 4 months to 3 years plus, sometimes 4 or older. Great review - will get a link

I use an action baby carrier (abc) and its great! Wide at the base and the waist straps are more padded than a connects which is better with a heavier toddler. They are very reasonable too so not too bad as you use it less when they are more independent
