Shall I say something and if yes, what?

Dd is 6 yo (Yr1) and has come home twice this term saying that her friend has told her and some other girls that there is no tooth fairy and now (hushed tones) yesterday NO FATHER CHRISTMAS!!!! I am pretty p'd off as it has come from the friends mother/parents and not just from an older sibling or a realisation on the part of the girl herself. Her family do not celebrate Christmas or put fallen out teeth under pillows. Now I have no objection to them not wanting to join in with what they see as silly traditions but why do they have to spoil other childrens fun? I have told dd that I can't believe what I am hearing - why would I want her tooth? As for FC I have said if you don't believe he won't come. Luckily DD is pretty quick and told this girl she was wrong and the other girls all agreed with her. I want to tell this girls mum that her dd is telling the class that there is no FC without being confrontational. Should I? How could I put it nicely? ANy suggestions welcome.

I hate the whole Santa thing

My parents never did it

and dd has always had a bit of a phobia about men with beards - I hardly want to start telling her about some creepy old beardy man who'll be sneaking into her bedroom at night, she'll have nightmares

So I have told her from the beginning that it is just a nice story

It REALLY pisses ME off when people say to her "Oooh what's Santa Claus bringing you? / Have you been a good girl this year so you'll get presents? / Are you leaving a mince pie out for Santa?"

Get this. A TEACHER at our school told a friend's dd and class (they were 8 or 9 at the time) that there was no Santa and that it was 'just something that parents make up.' Friend went ballistic and went into the school and gave teachy a right rollocking! Yay! Friend's family were firm believers in the bearded one and all things magical and fairyish, and her dd was devastated. Interestingly, same teacher is now teaching my 6yo. Watch this space... Brennan, i think it's lovely that your 11 yo still believes. Wish my 10 yo did. Not only does she not, but has rubbed her non beliefs off on her bro (aged 7) I think my 6yo is still fairly convinced though. The other two get stern glary eyes if ever they mention in front of him that it's all a load of hogwash.
Hey ho. Ho Ho...
