Quick question 14wk old cooing in cot now - leave her to it?

Hello, just thought I'd check what more experienced mum's do in this situation. DD went down for the night at six, slept until around nine then had a feed, slept a little bit longer but then has been lying there cooing and chatting on and off for about an hour. I have been in once and gave her a little cuddle, so did DH. She seems happy but not very sleepy and didn't want her dummy, she just wants to wriggle and talk. Is it fair enough to leave her to it? I assume she is practicing?

FWIW, I suspect she may be starting to teeth, she has also been practicing trying to roll like mad during the day on her play mat - could these have anything to do with her waking up? She has always been a very good sleeper.

Definitely leave her to it if she's not distressed. This is how they learn to self settle in my opinion. We (me included!) can be far too quick to rush in in these circumstances. You are showing her that night is for bed and sleep, not play time. She provided she's fed, dry and warm, and not upset, just leave her to it!

Dd is 19 weeks and yes if she's happy and not die a feed I just leave her to it. Helps train them to self soothe and hey themselves to sleep IMO :)

Yay, thank you both! So glad I'm on the right track. It's gone quiet so maybe she's nodded off.
