Anyone have a touring caravan

And can recommend cheap family sites.
I've looked for a holiday section so I thought I would try posting here.
Any way we bought a little touring caravan, so we could whizz off with the babies whenever we fancied.

I thought in the summer holidays about going away for a couple of weeks at one and spending 2-4days around different places.
I looked online and some are coming in at £250 plus.
I would ideally like there to be a little club house or something.
So if any one else does this kind of stuff and can give a newbie a hand. That would be fab x

Try the caravan club. Members get discounts and there's a little book to help you choose sites. Plus theyre guaranteed to be nice. If its of any use theres a great one at freshwater east (or it might be west) in Pembrokeshire.

Ah yes.. there's the caravan & camping club too. Always amused me that apparently campers aren't welcome in the caravan club, they obviously need a separate club Grin

Imo camping and caravan club sites are very expensive.
You need a map or guidebook of your area or where you want to go. I've got one for Scotland with all the sites and their websites on the back. Or just google "campsites near x.." Most campsites take tourers too whereas googling caravan parks brings up lots of statics only sites.

You need UK Campsite:

www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/

Honest reviews and they even published my not so favourable ones.

Friendly chat/help forum too for all things camping.

There is also a camping section on here in the travel section.

I found a great facebook page (local but camping related) and asked on there, had some great suggestions. You could try that.

You could try the secret garden touring site - Wisbech St Mary has an on site brewery and have sausage and beer tasting each week. We're going to the Food Fair this year
