How can I make DD smile?!

DD is seven weeks and has just started smiling but she seems to be reserving the majority of her smiles for DP and my Mum which I am trying to be brave about but am finding a little upsetting. I've tried lots of smiling at her, peek-a-boo, big exaggerated kisses, silly songs and gobbling her toes - any other suggestions? I know it sounds silly but I'm feeling a little hurt that DP and my Mum only have to look at her and she beams but I don't seem to be inspiring many smiles no matter what I try...

They really make you work for it at that age! Try not to take it personally, I know it's hard though.
I found doing 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' and moving his little hands for all the actions worked with my DS at that age.
Hang on in there, you'll be getting loads of smiles in no time, then the laughing will start too Smile

Oh bless you!

Press her nose and make a beeping sound, rub her ears and make a 'ding' sound.

Blow raspberries on her cheeks - like a big exaggerated kiss.

You'll soon gets lots of smiles, and then she'll learn to talk and say 'daddy' first. At least that's what mine did!!

Oh bless you they really make you work hard smiles sometimes.
Wind the bobbin up with actions, wheels on the bus anything with actions works well I find.
Lots of smiling yourself too, I spend a lot of time grinning inanely.
Don't take it personally though different babies find different things amusing one of my nephews only has to see my face and he starts smiling and giggling, he doesnt do it with anyone else it doesn't make sense. There's just no logic to it sometimes. Smile

Thank you for the tips! Beeping her nose has just won me a smile although I tried doing this yesterday when singing 'the horn on the bus goes beep beep beep' and she was distinctly unimpressed:-) Thank you again x
