How to handle playground battles, 8 yr olds

Hi. My 8 yr old ds came home from school today with a small scrape on his fave. When I asked him about it's he said two boys who he's usually quite friendly with we're fighting with him and another boy. He said that the two boys were annoying them and started chasing them. The 'fight' was stopped when the bell rang. I know these things happen but hate the thought of actual fighting. My son gets a bit annoyed when I ask him too much though so I don't want to keep going on about it or he won't tell me anything else. Should I just ignore it?

Might mention to teacher that the boys are playing quite roughly. Please could they watch out to limit such behaviour & I would talk to my son about it, too. (probably)

Your son will be best buds with them again very soon. And if it were my son he'd hugely enjoy and get benefits out of the rough play even if somtimes it goes too far.

Thanks, I'll try to keep an eye on it and mention to teacher if it becomes a regular thing. You're right though, they were all playing together again today! My problem is I always need to ask my ds so many questions so I can try to work out exactly what happened that I end up annoying him.
