I'm just wondering at what age did your dc begin to have periods of being awake? And also when did you get your first smile?

Probably 4 weeks before he was properly awake looking around for proper periods of time, but we had a hell of a time with jaundice and feeding which could have delayed this a bit. Around 5/6 weeks when we got first smiles, definitely smiling away by 8 weeks when we had our post natal checks.

Dc1 was quite a sleepy baby, he started having short periods of awake time at about 2 weeks old but he still slept most of the time. He smiled between 3/4 weeks.

Dc2 has always been much more awake, he had awake periods right from day 1. He smiled at 1 and a half weeks.
