Best night time nappies for a big 3 year old?

I am really struggling to find good night time nappies for 3.5 year old. He's tall/ large for his age. Most of the nappies for older kids are quite lightweight (just for the odd accident). He uses his every night and it quite often leaks.

I have tried several brands and best so far is Boots Easy ups but they still leak a couple of times a week which isn't ideal.

Would really appreciate any suggestions of what has worked for you? Thank you!

My 4 year old won't do pullups so we use the asda active baby which leak less than pampers. I find that doing them up very very snugly helps avoid leaks.

Thanks lollygagger. V hard to get nappies on him - partly psychological (too much like the baby's nappies) and partly physical :)
Might have to try again though if the pull ups keep leaking.
Thank you. Any other suggestions much appreciated.

with DD we used pull ups with a maternity pad (the thick type) inside it. For extra absorbancy.

What weight is he? My dd age 13 but small for age is still in nappies due to disability, so I have quite a lot of experience! Libero Comfort size 7 (15-30 kg available from Tena website) are very good imo. Beyond this weight, I find Attends a good make - available from Age UK! Sorry if you don't want to consider adult continence products, just thought I would mention it as the absorption/non-leakage is very good. Obviously all dependent on your ds' size and weight.

coffeeandeggs · 26/01/2015 19:34

Thanks all very helpful

ClaraM I don't actually know how much he weighs. No scales at home and hasn't been weighed at doctors for ages but will check somewhere. Think probably 20-30kg so the Libero would be good. Don't really mind where they come from so will look at Tena and AgeUK. Am hoping a better nappy will be (a) more comfortable for him; (b) reduce washing load and (c) possibly delay some early morning wake ups...

Thanks again.

These! I have a 3.5 year old with SN no hope of getting out of nappies anytime soon . He has leaked overnight in everything for months , found the libero 7 rubbish for overnight use btw though ok for day it's what the continence service provides us with as he has long since grown out of size 6 nappies . You need to get them on properly but when you do they don't budge and you don't get the soaking child / pj's mattress scenario at 4 am .

You could try using dry nites for age 4-7 if he's quite big. I use them with my 5 year old and have done for the past year with no problems x

coffeeandeggs · 28/01/2015 14:08

Thank you laurenfalvey I have tried the dry nites - they fit but can't quite take the quantity ;)

PagingDrFaggot I have ordered those and will make sure to put on properly. Fingers crossed and thanks v much.

First time have posted on mumsnet and really appreciate all suggestions.

we are still using size 6 nappies or pull-ups from Lidl with good success. DS 3y8mo

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 28/01/2015 17:26

Sainsburys pull ups fit my 3.8yo and have loads of space for growth, but she is a girl and 15kg so not huge

Bedsheets4knickers · 28/01/2015 17:27

I second the dry nights

strawberrie · 28/01/2015 17:31

My DS is 3.5, tall and about 18.5kg. Our most reliable night time pull ups are lidl junior big; haven't really got on with sainsburys ones.

coffeeandeggs · 15/02/2015 19:30

thanks again everyone

we have been using these for a few weeks now:

they are so much bigger than the usual 6+ nappies and pull ups. Not one accident yet.

thanks to pagingdrfaggot for the recommendation
