Feeding time nightmare

Basically my nearly 22 month old daughter has started to become really really fussy when it comes to lunch/evening meals. She is now refusing pretty much everything I give her. She will have one mouthful then she has started doing this thing where she pretends to gag and spits it out. It's driving me crazy. I've cut out snacks during the day to see if that will help but it's not making much difference. All she wants to eat is biscuits, raisins, yogurt, orange or cucumber. She might even eat the odd bit of toast.
Is anyone else going through the same thing?
any tips on how I can get her to eat? When she does eat a mouthful I praise her and clap etc but that's even stopped working.

My son who's now 3.4 has had phases like this. I normally offered things I knew he liked and if he didn't want anything leave it until next meal.
If he said he was hungry he could have what he just refused (not the same bowl of wheetabix bit still wheetabix.

After a few days he would be back to normal.

He would drink a lot of milk during these phases but that's pretty normal for him too.

He isn't skinny so I just let it be. Hope I don't sound too harsh. I think 22 months should know if she's hungry or not.
