What's your routine with your 7mth old?

I worry that my LO who is 7 months doesn't get the right balance of things. What do you all do each day with your 7 month old? How important is it to be out and about?

I have a 6 month old.

He wakes at 6.30 ish, breastfeed, lie about in bed for a bit. 7.30 clean nappy, bouncy chair while I get his 5 yo twin brothers ready for school. 8 am ish he has breakfast; yoghurt or fruit or porridge or similar.
8.30 school run in his car seat. 9 ish he goes down for a nap.
10.30ish he wakes, another feed, then we potter about - walk in the pushchair, jumperoo, playmat.
12 ish he has another nap

1 ish he has lunch
2 ish another nap, in cot, pushchair or with me in bed

3 pm school run. No more sleeps till bedtime.
He watches his brothers, they read to him, he plays on the floor, bounces in the jumperoo etc.
4 pm breastfeed
5.30 pm goop for supper

6.30 ish bath ( sometimes ) clean clothes, last feed, bed.
He normally wakes once in the night for a feed.

Watching with interest. I have a 6 month old. She has a feed about 6 and sleeps till about 8. Breakfast. Mid morning boob. Nap at some point in the morning. Sometimes half hour some times longer. Lunch 12 ish if she doesn't sleep through lunch. (Breast and food) mid afternoon boob. Sometimes afternoon nap but not always. Depends on how long her morning one was. Dinner 5 ish. Boob 6 ish. Bath quarter to 7. Feed to sleep. Want to stop Brest feeding soon. No idea how I'm gonna do that!! Up loads in the night

What about getting out and about - groups, family, supermarket etc do you incorporate this. I only do the odd visit to family or friends but never the supermarket or into town round shops and I'm worried this is a bad thing?

I never went to the supermarket with my DS at this age, unless I absolutely had to - can't imagine why anyone would want to try a big shop with a little baby unless they had to.

I did potter round the shops in town pretty much daily just for my own benefit - your baby doesn't need to though. Getting out of the house was for both of our benefits, a change of scene for me and fresh air and interesting things for my DS. I wouldn't say it was necessary to do it every day, and there were certainly several days where I wasn't organised enough to get out of the house.

I did a couple of baby groups/classes but again mostly for my benefit, although my DS obviously didn't mind going as well. Again, not necessary at all. If you're looking for something to go to, lots of libraries do a drop in "rhyme time" type activity often for free or a minimal charge.

Thanks culture this has made me feel slightly better. I try and get out each day for an hour for a walk but we're not around other babies much and I wonder if it's harming him in some way. He seems quite advanced for his age but I still worry.

Babies don't need interaction with other babies, what they need is quality interaction with an attentive and consistent care giver. Which is exactly what you are giving your DS. Any classes, groups etc are there for if you fancy a change of scene, some adult interaction and just something fun to do. If you're happy at home then there's no need to change what you do or worry about it.

It won't be until he is much older (more like 2 to 3 upwards) that interaction with other children his age is helpful.

I go to loads of groups but its mainly for my sanity.
