Horrible shouty short fused mummy

I have a terrible chest infection which means my asthma has flared up. Am on massive amounts of steroids and antibiotics. Being out in the cold isn't possible as it makes me feel so shit. Dh is on nights and needs to sleep all day (safety critical role). Trying to keep 2 1/2 year old Ds entertained and relatively quiet is just about killing me and I am horrible shouty short tempered grumpy mummy.

Nothing that every single mother on the planet has been at some time. Take it as a good sign that you recognize it, breathe deep, keep doing your best and know that this time will pass and it will get easier.

Show me a mummy who hasn't EVER shouted at or been grumpy with their child at some point, (especially when ill & tired) & I'll show you a liar !

Electric Nanny is your friend, a few DVDs while Daddy is asleep & a few snacks will not hurt for a day or two.

Can you get a friend to come & take him to the park for a blast at some point to give you a break & him some fresh air during the day?

Yesterday we went to see some friends with young children and I was able just to lie on their sofa whilst the children rampaged around me. Today we're going for lunch at grandma's, and then they're going to take him on a muddy welly splashy walk so that should knacker him out. I am then going to take him for a McDonald's for tea and that should get us through! Thank you for empathy-it helps! Smile
