Swimwear for baby boys?

Hi,
I would like to take my baby boy swimming next week as we will have hit the magical six week mark (and I would like to celebrate keeping him alive longer than Ive managed with any pot plant).
But I hAve no idea what fashionable babies are wearing in the water these days? If I'm honest, I have no idea what unfashionable ones are wearing either.
I don't want to spend much money as he's growing like a weed (weeds I have no problem keeping alive). Can anyone recommend swimwear? He's just outgrown 0-3month clothes but 3-6 month ones look huge.

My little one is 9weeks old n we plan to go swimming at weekend.

With ds1 we used the above then a wetsuit from 6-18mths then just a sunsuit thing with swim nappy

Some swimming pools expect you to have double protection - ie a disposable swimming nappy ('little swimmers' are widely available in supermarkets - just like a regular nappy but can cope with getting wet), then a reusable on top - basically you want to ensure that any incidents are contained to make sure you're not the parents who get the pool closed thanks to a leaky poo!

I had one of those neoprene wetsuit things for DS when he was tiny but for a short dip in warm kiddies pool I don't think they are essential.

Happy Nappies make good swim nappies and wetsuits - you can get matching sets if you want your Ds to turn heads!

The teacher at our baby swimming class recommended a company called splash about which you can order from online. They do neoprene nappies for £10 and you can put a disposable swim nappy underneath or buy one of their nappy systems which has a reusable inner bit. If he finds the water too cold you might want to get an outer layer to cover his tummy too but take him first and see. If you are just in the baby pool he will probably be fine. If you do want one splashabout do ones with velcro so you don't need to worry about getting a wriggly baby into a wetsuit.

We took DD from six weeks and are just about to take 3mo DS tomorrow for the first time.
