Has anyone had this insanely itchy rash after childbirth? I'm convinced this is what I have, even though the doctor disagrees (thinks it's an allergy) but it seems to be something you usually get when pregnant, not postpartum.
I'm at the end of my tether and am not sleeping. Also breastfeeding and worried it's affecting my supply.
Can anyone help?

I had this, it started within 24 hours of my sons birth, its HORRIBLE, I really feel for you. My doctor seemed to think it was low Iron, but I'm convinced it was hormonal. Nothing much helped at the time, but I moisturised like crazy and took really hot showers when it got really bad which seemed to relieve the itching. It disappeared by itself eventually, and did not affect my milk supply.

Thanks for the reply. Can I ask how long you had it for?
I got it when DD was about 9 weeks, now 17 and it's just getting worse.

I had it for the last month or so of pregnancy, although it faded towards the end, then for the first 3 weeks after the birth, then again at about week 6 to week 9... I did find a combination of anti-hystamines and a steroid cream as prescribed by my doctor really helped finally shift it. Hope it clears for you, I remember how miserable it was.

Yes. I'm breastfeeding and have this. Know of others who have had it post partum and while breastfeeding too!

My supply is fine too btw. :) It's just itchy and unsightly!

Oh my god, the itching! I've finally seen a doctor who believed me but said it was 'unheard of'. Hoping it eases even if it doesn't clear up just yet!

I know 2 other people who had it in rl. One in pregnancy and one breastfeeding. Both saw their gp. So not unheard of! But I'm glad you've been believed.
Mine nodded but pointed out anything strong enough to dent the itch might affect supply.

I have found topical tee tree oil application really helps. But you stink of antiseptic herbal smell!
