DS is now sixteen and attending the same school I went to. She is now the age I was when my dad died. I have survived the trip abroad (she went to the same place I went to at that age, but my dad died while I was there) and the gcse results in the summer but everything is reminding me. It's so hard.

Oh mate that sounds really tough.

Have you a decent support system in RL?

Nerf · 17/01/2015 14:17

Not really, dh never knew my dad and all my gps died in the last years. It's just really odd. Some of the teachers are the same, the whole thing is oddly unsettling.

Oh Nerf, that must be really triggering some weird almost "deja vu" stuff for you, is it?

Have you thought about ringing Cruse? I know your Dad died a long time ago but still, they might be able to help, if you think you might need it.

That might be worth looking at. Gcse results were awful - dropped her off and waited, so stressed out, didn't realise why but it was all so time warp like, especially as dad died just after I had my results - split between years so top and tailing her being sixteen iyswim.
Thanks for understanding.

Nerf- I don't think it's odd to feel the way you do at all. It must be like re-enacting what you went through. I'm sorry for your loss. Grief is odd like that: bites us on the bum when we least expect it. Thanks For you.

Thanks sage. School hasn't really change so it's all weird déjà vu and a tiny bit of jealousy Blush that DS has a dad.
