My ds is 2 and has a bit of a cold. As soon as he lies down his cough starts and it keeps him up all night. I've heard onions helps?!

Vicks on the soles of their feet

We have used a humidifier for the last few years with my ds who gets horrible coughs. It really helps.

We use a large sofa cushion so that he almost sleeps sitting up. Vick on his feet seems to work too.

Yep, Vicks on soles of feet.

We've found keeping DD's room cool helps. Other than that, cosleeping is a life saver.

Another vote for Vicks on soles of the feet with socks.

DS1 had always suffered with this to the extent of he would vomit every night due to the coughing. Having heard about the Vick's on the feet trick, I tried it last time he had a cough and he did not cough all night - truly amazing! Really wish I had known about it all those years we had to regularly change bedding in the middle of the night Wink
