Ideas for grizzly baby before bedtime?

What do you do with your tired grizzly babies in the run up to bedtime? DD goes down at 7 but I'm always desperate to start her bedtime routine from about 5 as she's a super grizzler by that point! Any good ideas to distract her until I can stick her in the bath?

How old is she? Could you give her another daytime nap so she's less tired by bedtime?

Inbl00m · 10/01/2015 07:56

She's 17 weeks and has 3 naps of about 45 mins during the day. ?Confused

Maybe let her have a 20 minute nap at 5pm? Then bedtime at 7.30pm.

7pm is very late for this age imo.

DS grizzles around 5ish as well and /I was told by HV that this is him tellign us he's tired and ready for bed so its bathtime at 5.30pm, milk in dimlit bedroom on chair with cuddles then straight into bed at 6ish....the earlier he goes to bed the longer he sleeps for us.

I would give another nap at 5pm, then bedtime 8pm.

At 17weeks mine didn't go to bed until 9pm downstairs, then actual bed at 11pm when we went. Napped around 4hrs a day. Woke
Around 8/9am

When dd was dropping naps, I'd either give her 10 mins about 5 or take for a walk in huge pushchair. She'd chill out and possibly doze for a few minutes and seemed to give her the final bit of energy to get through bedtime.

Littlef00t · 10/01/2015 14:51

The pushchair not huge!

Inbl00m · 10/01/2015 15:53

hula how long does your lo sleep for? When did goes down at 7 she usually sleeps until 7am but if she goes down earlier she seems to get up at about 5.

Art we used to take dd up to bed when we went but if we keep her downstairs now she keeps herself awake and becomes tired and inconsolable (we tried dim lighting, quiet tv, etc) so we put her in her own room now and she sleeps peacefully Smile
