So we have decided to separate, he is moving out on saturday and I am moving to a lovely new ground floor flat next weekend. So i am now a disabled single parent of 2 girls, an 11yr old and a very lively 3 yr old! I'm lucky that I do have a PA who is a godsend and really helps and does my housework for me too. I apparently am getting reassessed to have more care to take over what my (ex) husband did for me, helping me get ready for bed etc. So I will have help in the evenings too hopefully.
I'm so looking forward to living in a flat! It's not adapted but it is fully accessible and better than living here in a house with an upstairs :)

Good Luck

I am still struggling to understand how mainstream families cope without a wheelchair in the house,

My ds even wrote poems about how I was his favourite person because I had hoists crutches wheelchairs and a POWER BED!

And wheelchair users are just the right height for kids - how do mainstream parents cope when all they can see of their kids are their partings in their hair.

Lots of luck with your new chapter
