I have a 3 month old DS and we have just bought a house in a new area si in the next week or so I will be on the hunt for a decent nursery.

I've looked at ofsted but there are a few mixed feeling regarding calling first or turning up unannounced !?

any other tips x

Some will let you look round if you just drop by, some will only have staff available to show you round if you make an appointment.

Could you drop in to ask for a meet and show around another time? Bit of a rigmarole, but you'll get a bit of unguarded but also the time and attention.

Nurseries have adult to child ratios to adhere to. It is entirely likely that a nursery would not have any member of staff free to take you on a tour or deal with your enquiries unless you make an appointment.
